Acne scars, surgical scars and scar correction
As severe teenage acne, surgical incisions, skin trauma and burns heal, they can leave depressions or firm raised areas in the skin known as scars. Treatment retriggers the wound healing mechanism in a controlled way; with techniques such as Gold Needle and CO2 Fractional Laser, the aim is for smooth collagen tissue to form in place of the tethered bands. In combined sessions, usually planned 4-6 weeks apart, visible improvement is achieved between the 3rd and the 5th session. Depending on the depth of the tissue, 50-85% smoothing is possible.
Creates thousands of microscopic thermal channels in the skin to trigger renewal; scarred tissue gives way to new collagen.
The fibrous bands pulling depressed acne scars downwards are released beneath the skin with a special needle, allowing the skin to lift.
PRP prepared from the person's own blood is applied through the laser channels to speed up healing.
At our practice in Muratpaşa, Antalya, scar revision is planned individually around your facial anatomy, with a natural result as the priority. Assessment and treatment are carried out personally by Dr. Gökhan Elmabaşoğlu.
Depending on the depth and the age of the damaged tissue, 50 to 85% smoothing is possible.
If the surface of the skin is being ablated (particularly with the CO2 laser), the autumn and winter months are safer because of the risk of pigmentation.
Redness and micro crusting for 3-5 days after the procedure are normal; the crusts must not be picked off, and an SPF 50+ sunscreen should be used.
